Research sheet 3- Positioning on posters

Positioning is everything on adverts and posters.
In the 1950s the trend seemed to be as follows:

Having the picture at the top of the ad draws your eye in.

Then they have put the text at the bottom so that you can find out more information after you have looked at the picture and slogan.

I think this is a great idea it really does draw you in having the picture at the top. I think my advert designs will take on a form like this.
